To celebrate the MackFest in 2016, we created a Virtual Reality environment based on the 'House for an Art Lover', which was originally designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The design shown here is not an accurate depiction of the house, but features several elements that were inspired by the original.
Developed for the HTC Vive, this VR experience allows users to 'enter' the house, and by using two hand controllers, move around the space to interact with the Mackintosh inspired furniture.
The user is able to spawn objects and furniture pieces from the board, and then pick them up to place them anywhere in the room that they choose.
We shared with experience with the public during the MackFest at Glasgow's St. Enoch centre. Watch some of the highlights of this here.
