Smooth Workflow. Stunning Images. Happy Client.
We were commissioned by a talented Interior Designer to produce high-res CGIs to showcase his design concept for a client’s luxury home.
In order to accurately portray his vision, the client was looking for a detailed approach which meant that we had to pay particular attention to the minor details of furniture, finishes, lighting, etc.
To ensure that the images conveyed the correct mood / atmosphere for this type of home, we focused specifically on the lighting set up for each image, using many smaller lights to highlight key areas of the space, rather than relying on a few larger light sources with higher intensities.
Showing off the detail in each room was vital in conveying the high end luxury feel the client was looking to achieve.
The rooms to be included were:
- Living space
- Dining space
The house had an overall upper class feel / style, which we were particularly looking forward to working on.
Stage 1 – We block out the space to a recognisable point and send the client draft view options. Everything at this stage is white card to allow the client to only focus on picking which view works best, and not getting distracted by materials or specific lighting.
Stage 2 – A partially propped out space with some textured models is sent to the client to show our work in progress. We aim to model the main pieces of furniture first and apply the primary materials into the scene. At this stage, the client is able to deliver feedback and comment on whether or not the project is running on track.
Stage 3 – We take on board the client’s feedback and updated our file accordingly. The remaining models and materials are put into the scene and we send a final draft on to the client to allow them to view the images and provide any final comments before we begin the final render process.
Stage 4 – The final render process is carried out and the resulting image is post produced to further enhance its atmosphere and mood. 2D assets such as people, and in some cases texture replacements, can also be added at this stage. This final image is sent on to the client. We can make minor edits after the final render process such as colour grading or swapping out people.
Our client was delighted with our work and was excited to let his client see what their new home would look like. We received great positive feedback and the client returned for further work.
